SFCM  |  The Bowes Center for Performing Arts

San Francisco, CA

To usher in and nurture the future generation of talent and performers while further establishing their identity and presence among the nation’s elite music education programs, The San Francisco Conservatory of Music would like to expand their facility with a new, unique, state-of-the-art theater and student housing tower at 200 Van Ness Avenue within San Francisco’s Civic Center performing arts district. The ground level along Van Ness and Hayes will be highly transparent and visible both to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. It will feature a lobby, a café / bar program, and a flexible space at the Van Ness and Hayes intersection which can serve as an extension of the lobby or small ensemble / performance space. A theater (size to be determined) will be located on the ground floor with raked seating and a mezzanine level.

My primary role was to help developed the Revit led contract documents from Design Development value engineering through complete Construction Documents. I primarily coordinated and detailed the Main Lobby and similar public spaces, the Recital Hall, the Technology Hall, and the Performance Hall through complex detailing and coordination with all disciplines and trades. I did provide limited Construction Administration review of submittals and RFI's.
